I arrived on a sunny summer day around 10am. Corey had been on pitocin since about 6am and was progressing slowly, but surely. She labored in bed with the help of her amazing birth partner, Todd, who got a little teary-eyed during some of her more intense contractions. This couple was so sweet to work with. They were so connected and in tune with each other. Their little girl is so lucky to have them as her parents.
After about 8 hours on pitocin, Corey decided to have an epidural around 2:45 in the afternoon. Their little girl had other plans, though. Before the doctors could get the epidural going, she was ready to push! Mama did one push and her baby girl was born, much to Dad’s delight. So many happy tears!! It was such an honor to capture this little one’s entrance into the world. A friend who was present at the birth said this to the mom, and I couldn’t agree more: “That was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. You are my hero.” She was a rockstar.
